I was reviewing an older post about mathhammer and my orks vs plague wing and was curious about what the new orks would do to plague marines.
Orks are now striking at +1I and +1S on the charge.
Still 2 base attacks, +1 for 2 hand weapons, +1 for charging.
1 Plague marine strikes 3 time on the charge @ I3 (1 base, +1 for 2 hand weapons, +1 for charging)
WS4 means 3 strikes @ 50% to hit = 1.5 hits
S4 means 50% to wound = .75 wounds
Ork 6+ save is 16% to save = .63 unsaved wounds
Meaning that 2 Plague Marines (46 points) are needed to kill 1 ork (6 points).
on the other hand...is a different set of fingers...
1 Ork strikes 4 times on the charge @ I3 (furious charge) (2 base, +1 for 2 hand weapons, +1 for charging)
WS4 means 4 strikes @ 50% to hit = 2 hits
S4 (Furious Charge) means he's wounding on 5's, 33% to wound = .66 wounds
Plague marine 3+ save means 33% chance to miss save = .22 unsaved wounds
4+ Feel No Pain then drops that 50% more to .11 wounds
Meaning 10 Orks (60 points) are needed to kill 1 Plague Marine (23 Points)

You are forgetting one major fact...No Ork worth his green hide is going to forget to bring a Nob with P-Klaw in with the boyz.
5 attacks @ I1, S9 on the charge... 5*(1/2)*(5/6)= 2 wounds. That would be a 46pt model killing it's weight in plague marines on the average charge.
Then there's Burna Boys: Same stats as Shootas but ignore saves: 3 Attacks @ I3, S4 = 3*(1/2)*(1/3) = .5 wounds. 2 Orks (12pts) killing 1 PG (23pts).
Do not discount the the green tide!
I found out the hard way that Ork Rokkits do a number on PG's as well. Instant death, no save and no FnP. Ouch. Granted the Ork player was rolling very well to hit with their BS2.
That's assuming of course that the Nob lives through my attacks @ I3.
a unit of 6 PM's should kill 3.78 Orks assaulting me you lose your +1 attack for charging (blight grenades)(granted we will strike simul due to f charge) then the asp champ with 4 swings with his pfist S8.
4*(1/2)*(5/6)*(5/6)=1.3778 more kills. right?
Dang it... Forgot about the blight grenades.
The Nob and Champ will swing simultaneously so both will get their attacks... And the odds that an ork player will be hitting you with less than a dozen models at a time is pretty slim.
The typical Boyz mob in the lists I've seen tend toward the 20+ range. That's a lot of boyz you've got to kill before you have much hope of removing the Nob. And a really good ork player won't just be hitting with a single mob. They time the charge to put multiple units into your lines, multiple per target unit if at all possible.
I, however, am not a really good Ork player so your calculations are probably fairly accurate if you were playing against me. :-P
